Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for all of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be in the role of Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently filming on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned an Tony Award nomination. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
